It is here!

Chang E: the Lady of the Moon

A picture book about the Chinese moon goddess and the Autumn Full Moon Festival.

Chang E loves her husband who is a hero. One day her curiosity leads her away from their life together. Our story tells you what happens next, and what the Queen Mother of the West did.

You will also find out how the Mid-coast Maine Chapter of Families with Children from Asia celebrates the Autumn Full Moon Festival.

In 1993 Robinsunne published her first book, Nannee.

Nannee, an herbalist, takes her granddaughter for a walk, and teaches her about the plants that they gather together.

The words for each page frame the pictures and are cut in silhouette from black paper.  The original pages feel like lace.

The possibility of recreating the paper cuts was too distant for this first project - so we had a raised print made of one of the pages in the book that we include with each book to allow the reader to feel that texture.

You may purchase Nannee here, at amazon.com.

The Great Library

ATC Swap

IS HERE!

Click here to be taken to lulu.com where you can purchase the book!!

ATCs - Artist Trading Cards - are 2.5" x 3.5" pieces of art that are being made and traded around the world.

We started a Swap here in Rockport at the public library and were having so much fun that we began to wonder what it would be like if there were ATC swaps at libraries all over the country (they are municipal facilities usually, so it made sense to us that they would like to play hostess to our artistic urges). What if everywhere we travelled we were able to find a library with a Swap? And what if our library group swapped with your library group? The possibilities are endless - and fantastic!

So Robinsunne has written you a book with all of the wisdom and experience that our group has gained, PLUS over 30 lessons that we use at our swaps to give your group - or just yourself - a focus.

These lessons are excellent for beginners and young children, but fabulous for experienced artists. What seems like a simple cut and paste idea turns into exquisite art in the hands of the skilled craftsperson.

Robinsunne is so happy, glad, excited, (!!!) to announce the impending opening of Sunne Spot Studio.

Sunne Spot is a drop-in craft and art studio, here, in Rockport, Maine.

Sunne Spot will be open weekday mornings. Robinsunne will also be teaching evening and Saturday classes.

Drop in to make a greeting card, work on your knitting, add a page or two to your artist journal, craft a royal crown, sew a "stuffie" animal, sip some coffee (available downstairs at the State of Maine Cheese Factory), hang out with your art friends.

Directions and materials are available at Sunne Spot, and/or bring your own favorite stash.

Robinsunne will post class schedules on my blog, photos of the Studio, links and connections to important events, sites and ideas and more. She will also continue to have gratuitous art lessons there. :)

You can also follo and "like" Sunne Spot Studio on facebook!

If you are anywhere nearby Rockport, Maine, come to our Grand Opening Party on June 13th. Free food. Free art materials. Deets to follow.

Robinsunne has been a guest designer for several Lark Books. All of these books are available at amazon.com:
